Look like normal Malays to me. They should be about 30-34 inches tall. Which is what those are, the wire is 2x4 inch wire. So that makes them around 30 inches and some of the males were a little taller. They may not be pure Malay, but the foundation stock must have been.

Those chickens in the video were made by genetic engineering, yes, if you consider selective breeding to be genetic engineering. I'm not sure if anyone has made an actual GMO chicken, and if they have, I don't think it's a skinny game-looking breed from Brazil.
I don't know for certain that Malays are healthy, but I know they're a really old breed, so I suspect they're at least not bad. They're just big by chicken standards. It helps that they're skinny, too- if they were big hefty things, they might have more issues, but they're not terribly heavy.

Wouldn't all chickens today be GMO? GMO just means genetically modified organism. So anytime you modify the genes of something, for whatever reason, you are genetically modifying it. It's not necessarily a bad thing. Our chickens these days have been genetically modified to give us bigger or more eggs, more meat, or different colored eggs (EEs).

Well, it depends on what your criteria of genetic modification is. If you count selective breeding, then, yes, chickens and every other domesticated animal are GMOs. Usually, though, when people talk about a GMO, they mean something that was edited in a lab, using something like CRISPR, instead of being bred and modified over generations. Like that "golden rice" that's been modified to have more vitamins.
I don't think "GMO" is generally used to refer to selectively bred animals.

Yeesh people look at Brazillians and say they are Malays, like Malays are an actual thing. Brazillian Shamos are what is in the video. Malays are a a bastardization of Kulang Asil, not a historical breed.
