Sometime next month I'll be setting up my new prefab coop to separate hens for breeding. They need 3 weeks before I breed to the roosters, so I get the right chicks.

How many roosters do you have? That maybe a factor. Sometimes I'm lucky, & don't need to separate, but that's only when I watch which roosters, are breeding with certain hens.
