Gil's world- Egg laying video/update!

i didnt say anything about your mothers tongue

'First language' translates in non U.S.A. English in 'Mothers tongue'. The language you learned from childhood. Yada yada yada.

I am glad you have no opinions on the literal tongue of my mother because I wouldn't like to throw it on the barby either; that nasty thick dry old piece of meat.

For the record - ducks do get humans, just like a dog or cat can.
Speedy knows I can not hear nor see as she does, she will sit on my shoulder and tap my head with her bill to get my attention then when I look at her she point her eye down then point her bill in the direction I'm to look. She also knows when I'm upset by the tone of my voice, and come to give extra ducky kisses and cuddles or if im angry at someone else and yelling, she bites at my pants to make me look at her and pick her up - she then trills and nuzzles my neck.
My Speedy is happier in the house with me then shoved out in the coop where she has been the last few months because of my living situation. I took her with me to the new place and she set off exploring and decided the kitchen is her new favorite spot.
Any animal is happy when they feel safe and loved, including ducks, chickens, whatever - and speedy hasn't wagged her tail as much in the past few month as she did when she was in the new house. She likes sleeping near me, and with me - if she didnt, she would be like the twins and sleep somewhere else. Instead she cuddles in with me on my shoulder or beside me and goes to sleep as does sugar.

Take your judgements and bite a twinkie. You do not know our animals nor what lengths we will go to make sure they are happy.
@Kkrista123 is doing a great job with Gil as I did the best I could with Speedy and Fancy.

I LOST fancy because he kept trying to jump the make shift fence I had for them outside because he wanted back in the house with me where he was safe and happy - and I was forced to leave them outside without adequate protection and he was attacked by my dog, which would never have happened had we of stayed where we were or been allowed inside. I learned a very harsh lesson and miss him every day, but I make 100 % sure speedy is safe at all costs even when riding in the car with me.

I see I can't get through. For me personally, it went wrong when you said 'Speedy is at all costs even when riding in the caf with me'. Ducks don't belong in a car.

I can live with you treating ducks as baby humans. You do it out of love. Okay. I just will never support it neither our national waterfowl accosiation that has connections all through Europe. You are unique snowflakes that want attention for putting Indian runner ducks in diapers; because you like it. You are not aware of what a duck likes. You think a duck likes what you like. You see what you want to see.

No - I put speedy in a diaper, so I dont have a mess to clean up - just like you do a baby. I change it often, and when shes outside she doesn't need it. Speedy hates the diaper and she makes sure I know it - but she likes being in the car except at night, and she likes being in the house.

It. Is. Not. A. Baby.

It's a duck. It is not a pooping human baby or toddler. Its not even a mammal. '

Sorry, I'm never going to support you and others with me. What is next? Tea-cup ducks? Only ducks with a poof on their head because it looks soooo cute? "cute' ducks with tiny feet that can't walk but look sooooo cute? Why you even getting non-dark ducks and posting them all over on instagram. Your, apperantly 1 duck, is really happier in the car then with other ducks? Could it be that she has no choice? Because you want it?

You truely believe that ducks want to wear diapers and sitting in cars makes them happy..

I said like you do a baby. Meaning diapers on the because you dont want to deal with the mess.
I think you're going off on a tangent since you're citing assumptions about how we take care of our animals. And none of what you're saying is relevant to anything helpful, it is all your opinion and judgement on how any specific animal should be treated.
It's your opinion and I dont care really that you dont like how we are taking care of our animals, we're not abusing them, over breeding them, or keeping them locked in cages in filthy conditions. We're merely keeping them indoors as opposed to outside to be attack by an number of predators.

Right so heres a video. lets watch

Its my two pekin ducks last year. they are not scared, sad, or angry. It is fully content and 100% accepted me as its family

They came as strangers and loved me

Your arguements hold no value here. and to me YOU hold no value. in the USA and Cananda we have pets and even the Vets tell us to keep them inside.

Birds are among the most intelligent animals there are...

I just.. I just can't. I just can't swallow my opinion and morals anymore like I did many times. Report and ban me.

I certainly won't report or try to have you banned for you voicing an opinion. I respect what everyone has to say. I don't live at college though, or in a dorm or apartment. I live at home in a full size home. I only have the one duck, Gil. She hatched and was alone always, and now prefers to be alone always. For that reason, she has always been inside. She doesn't like to outside in the cold. Everyone in the house loves her and talks to her constantly. If there is anyone that should keep this duck, it should be me. I have the space to start an outdoor flock but Gil doesn't seem to want to socialize and she WILL NOT stay outside in the cold. I have posted video's of it before. If I take her out in the cold she will only stay out for 5 minutes MAX and run right back to the door to go inside. In the house, we have 1 family dog that LOVES to play with duck occasionally and it is always supervised. I also have a hedgehog, ferret, snake and fish tanks. There is a rat in my boyfriends sister's room right next door. I live 3 houses down from my grandparents where there are 3 dogs which I grew up with. I have owned all kinds of birds, reptiles and small pets. I socialize all the pets and give them all lot's of time out of cages. I live my life by the quote #EngagedNOTCaged. I am a huge animal lover. My duck does not spend her time locked up. She's more like an emotional support animal and I am SO happy to announce to everyone that we are going down the route of a therapy animal! Hopefully then I will be able to take her to nursing homes, hospitals, kids places, schools anywhere. At the same time I can properly educate people about pets. They don't live in cages. They live with me, or you. They sleep in a cage and are to be put there to stay safe when you aren't home. I am a college student but I do online college. I am home 24/7. My job is a pet sitter so I always have an extra strange pet around. My hedgehog is nocturnal and only comes out to play before bed time. The rat is my boyfriend's sisters but she takes him out a lot to play. The snake comes out as often as he is in the mood too. The duck stays out with me all day and sleeps in her pen. When given the option, she'll sleep on her bed under my bed. If Gil EVER wants more ducks around, I will make it happen. If she want's to live outside, awesome, I'll make it happen. My property is on a creek so my backyard has quite some potential. She only goes in the creek if both me and my boyfriend go in with her. She's scared of other birds at the moment but hopefully someday she won't be. If she ever wants outside, we have plenty of space. My shed is a converted chicken coop. I no longer have chickens but I could easily re-update it and have a super safe coop. It's her choice though. Luckily, I spend enough time with my animals to know what they want. All summer Gil has access to lot's of outdoor swimming and diving. Winters she has bath inside. Everyday it is warm enough I take her outside for as long as she will. She loves her life and I love her.

I just got done volunteering with the local shelter. I am working to build a non-profitt organization in my area. I have rescued and re-homed sooo many caged pets. I re-socialize them so they are friendly and re-home them to personal friends or family. I check up on every single animal and alone as a college student, I have found 15 pets homes in the last year.

Everyone PLEASE. Take one thing from me,
#EngagedNOTCaged
