Ginormous monsters

I have to seperate them pronto! I don't know if you've experienced this but two of the "meaties" (love that term!) have claw scratches on their sides where other gigantors have stepped on them. If one of those bumbling fools missteps on my little precious layers, it would be game over for the tiny baby.

As of now they are seperated in the coop at night and then in the morning they roam together. The time has come to split the group into two all the time.

Oooo what we put up with for those tasty nuggets. As of today, believe they are a 9 pack:lol:

We processed our 12 of 23 Jumbo Cornish from MM hatchery last Wednesday. They were like handling a small turkey they had gotten so large at 9 weeks . I am finishing the others this Thursday. We also had ordered the white leghorns at the same time and the growth spurt has been outrageous with the Cornish. After we processed and cooked our first batch we will be doing this again in the fall. One processed Cornish completely filled a large stainless steel bowl. I will try to post pics this week we took. They were HUGE !!!! I can't emphasize enough how much meat is on one bird !! 12 filled the whole bottom of our freezer !!! Good luck and it IS worth every bit of time and money that you invest !!

Southern girl, what were you feeding them? Mine are going to be 5 weeks on Friday, I can't imagine them being that big in 4 weeks. Right now they are eating(and pooing) machines. I would love to see your pics!!!
