Well it seems that each weekend I need to build the girls something new.
Last week, we had to upgrade to a larger brooder,... AGAIN!,....
So we now, have a plywood walled 4' x 2' box on the coffee table in the living room
BUT, The girls have some more room to grow...
This week, (Today), with the warm weather, and bright sun,...
We decided to let the ladies see real Sunshine for their very first time.
We tossed a few stakes in the ground, and wrapped it with leftover wire from the ("ongoing construction", of coop/pen project), lol, and it was Momma hen, (My daughter Cameron), watching over her babies...
We brought the girls outside for a little Party-Time, and they immediately got all "Chatty-Happy".
We set up a little picnic table, a couple of chairs,
brought out the next Harry Potter book, some crayons, and a coloring book,
and "Momma hen" was happy to watch over her chicks...
"Duchess" helped stand guard, in case any wayward hawks wanted to be foolish, and try to grab a easy lunch...
The girls enjoied the sun, and they got pretty excited to play another round of "Mealworm Madness"...
Here's a link
To a little "Live Action" ...
"Mealworm MADNESS II "
I stacked a few 4 x 4's into a "Roost Trainer" Pyramid and they took to it well,
They got a few hours playtime today, and when the mealorms were gone, it was time for a little snooze...
The sun was going down, and it started to cool off, So it was time to go back inside to the new (3rd week in a row) bigger brooder,
and talk about the Wild Outdoors !
Say G'nite Gracy,....
"OK,...G'nite Gracie".....
