Can you subdivide them at all? Can you tell sex yet? Boys should be growing very slightly longer tail feathers.

Right now I doubt I could divide them up. Yes I'm beginning to see longer tails in at least 2 of them. I'm hoping for a 2:4 ratio

. That would be perfect for breeding.

Your a glutton for punishment! Get the NPIP and then sell them for $300 per trio.

I want to make sure they are full Java first. I would hate to sell off Spaulding birds as pure bred. In spring I'll try to take some great pictures so the people can make sure they are pure. If they end up being Spaulding then I'll probably just rehome them.

Even spaldings have value, but since you 've made it this far, may as well keep them and make loads on the eggs I guess.

They do but they are pretty common in these parts. Java are extremely rare in my area which is one reason I was looking forward to getting a established flock going on. I think I might dabble in some Wild Waterfowl breeding next year as well.
