Here is a good link, to something written by a vet a few years ago. He's a DVM in Austraia, I think, but I found the paper so usefull, that I began to move from the homemade dog food (including rice, barly, and veggies back then) to the raw food diet.

Are you buying meat from a butcher or raising your own?

Some people are feeding roadkill but that is very risky isn't it?

I feed 2x a day.

I do both. I procure deer, beef, pork, and sheep/goat scraps that are suitable (and mixed) from them. I buy cases of chicken necks and backs from a grocery store for $16 for about 30 lbs (allready in 2-3# pkgs) I also offer them culls and damaged/injured (dead first) birds, quail and duck so far. I toss in the occasional cracked egg (shell and all) plus the little rabbits my cat has been killing (and not eatin)

I don't ever do this, unless I suppose I'm the one who hit it, in which case if it was a possem or raccon or rabbit or deer, I would consider it.(if it appeared healthy before the tire hit it) I would not use skunks, or other rabies carriers.

I include everything listed above, plus fish in summertime. (I just keep changing it up as much as possible)

I have to go buy Easter Dresses for my girls now.
