Ok, no matter what, the body will have to respond. I mean, its not like it can be helped. Put it in the freezor in a plastic bag, tie the bag. Put a paper bag over than, and tuck it in the freezor. It'll be overwith soon, and as the weak bird isn't exactly well, it'll quickly go into sleep. It'll be asleep for the whole ending. Just stick it in and go. Don't come back!!!! In the am, take the bag out, don't open it, and toss it.

in case you dont know- When a chicken gets too cold, period, it goes into a hiburnation and either lives by being warmed up, or dies painlessly

Kevin. This is the right answer for you. Its weak, it'll be fast, almost completely painless, and best of all, hands off.

I think it'd be the easiest for me but it doesn't seem fair to the turkey to have to draw out it's death. I really just want to do what's best for the bird. I'll have to just put on my big girl panties and slit it's throat or break it's neck.

think of it this way- when a bear hibernates, it just sleeps. Period. It doesn;t feel pain, otherwise it'd wake up while it gives birth! Its the same. The turkey will simply sleep, sure it'll be a bit cold, but thats why it sleeps. It'll be painless, and it just doesn't wake up, it just wakes up in turkey heaven

It won't suffer, Kevin. Its not gonna be drawnout. It'll be just sitting and resting, then it'll cool down and go to sleep, then deep sleep, than nada.

If you want to twist its neck, fist, tell it whats up, so you'll feel better. Next, hold the head firmly where neck joins head. Put other hand an inch away. Hold left hand as far forward on neck as you can. Hold right hand as far in opposite directions as humanly possible. Now, take a breath, make a wish, and twist hard and fast. Hold bird to you for 15 seconds or less. Go bury your friend. Nobody coud have tried harder than you.
