Giselle Pronounced dead at 8:06 am

I'm sorry, for you, the hen, and the dog. It's had a lack of love and affection and will now be tossed to the side like trash because she has a lousy owner who didn't listen to care.

Thanks everyone, it really is nice to know that people understand what I went through this morning. I am in the process of writing my neighbor a letter. It's a tough situation because we are very close. His family owns the local market and they catered my wedding last september(which was delicious)!

It's so strange how the day started. My neighbors little brother texted me at 7am this morning to ask me to go to the Yankees game tonight. They are season ticket holders and we are all huge Yankee fans. It is not unusual for them to ask me. Get the point....we are very close. I didn't even see the text until now because I raced upto the breeder and replaced my lost girl with 2 girls. Just got home.

As I said earlier, giselle was pronounced dead at 8:06 so it's not like this is some sort of "family apology". It's so strange how the world works sometimes.

i'm still going to hand over the letter because I think it's high time my neighbor GROWS UP!

Again, Thanks for all your support. It truly means alot to me.

PS- The two newbies are in with the other girls and they are being bullies! I thought it would have been vice-versa. Time to Separate for a bit!

Sorry you lost you little Gisell. Glad you could get her sisters, but it's best, as someone else said, to keep them separated by "fencing for a while". They don't remember each other.

Communicating with him is a good idea and hope he takes it to heart. A husky can live fine out of doors, but does need at least an A frame house. Hopefully there's a husky rescue around you that can rehome her.

imho, your neighbor won't grow up until people stop "helping" aka, enabling him to not be a grown up. Everyone means well, tut he obviously relys on everyone to do his "responsiblities". Me, I'd like to tie him out on a chain w/no shelter or water for a bit

Dog was just being a dog, instinct, like you said. I keep telling myself that as I'm pretty sure either a niehgborhood dog or a hawk made off w/two of my hens in the last month (dirty dozen now down to Big Ten). I "pretend" they just went to live on a farm in Illinois as I didn't find them. I live across the road from Illiniois...

I was just coming on to post for a friend whose duckling was attacked by a neighbor cat. The neighbors moved and didn't take the cat, just left it to fend for itself, OI!!!

Good luck w/your new girls. What did you name them (love the name Gisell).

Giselle also went by Kate(named by my 5 year old niece). So when my niece is here we call her Kate. Seeing as how I came home with two new girls this morning I will officially call one Kate(after Kate Moss) and the other just has to remain Giselle(Giselle Bundshen). She is identical to my original..Go figure...it's a buff orp. My SLW is named Iman and barred Rock is Beyonce
Sad but true, they are all divas!!

And the main reason for such a quick replacement is that my niece comes every other day to visit and takes extraordinary care of her sweet Kate. Well I managed to bump todays visit until tomorrow because Kate is being a little b**ch and I'm going to spend some time getting her used to the human touch.

And it's very true what you posted.(I don't know how to that copy/patse thing)
I should not be enabling the situation.

So true. It is actually a cause of frustration for dogs and leads to more agression, especially if they finally do break free. I'm so sorry for your loss. Maybe you can contact a Husky or other dog rescue for your neighbor. They might be willing to rehabilitate the dog. It's heartbreaking to see both you and the dog paying the price for your neighbors unwise decisions.

Oh, I wasn't scolding, just noting in general. Usualy takes "until the bough breaks" to notice that it's even happening.

When I said a husky could live outside, I kinda meant in a yard, not on end of a chain. But, the sled dogs do live like that, but they are also exercised daily and well cared for, too.

Me, I rearrange my life around my animals. We once bought a home because we couldn't find some place to rent that would take the dog

So, you're slipping in a replacement. Just tell your niece that the hen's a teenager now and will become kind again when she starts to lay in another month or so, she'll do the "stance" when you go to pick her up then.

Love all the names, I might have to "steal" Iman if I get a Langsham. Considering replacing the RIR (Henrietta) and GLW (Princess Laya) but, I really don't need any more eggs, ,lol, sick of washing them. Might start giving them away w/"washing instructions". That or get one of those washing basket thingys. I just washed ~5 dozen and have eggpan hands

Good luck!
