I LOOOOVE my slow cookers !

I have found some great recipes on
www.flylady.net
scroll down to the FLYing in the kitchen section
select food for thought
then scroll down that page to the slow cooker section

I also have enjoyed the book
Slow Cooker Cooking
by Lora Brody
I got it first from my library, then got my own on ebay!

Two really simple recipes my family enjoys use a chuck roast.

The first is pot roast.
I add 1/4 ered potatoes, cut carrots, onion, pressed garlic, some salt and pepper, a little water and some beef bouillion with a 3-4 pound roast, then put it on low for 6-8 hours.

The second is for au jus sandwiches.
Again, a 3-4 pound roast, maybe a cup of water, bouillion, pressed garlic, lots of sliced onion, some salt and pepper.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
When cooked, take the roast out of the crock and either shred the meat using forks, or cut it really thin.

Put it on sandwich rolls with provolone cheese and some of the onions.

Pass little bowls of the au jus sauce from the crock to dip the sandwiches in.
