How Many Silkies are you wanting to put in there? The "Coop" Space looks to be about 3x3 9 sq ft or 3x4 or 12 sq ft.

A lifetime of "free" eggs is a bit of a stretch! That said, they look to be well made and aesthetically pleasing. I would definitely find out dimensions from him, and you can go from there on deciding how many to put in there.

It is 4x8 and 5 foot high...I will have 5 in there...

That could work for 5 Silkes. Might be a little tight but I haven;t ever raised Silkies before. There are coops around here for sale on Craigslist for about the same price,
