Giving a poultry presentation to 7th graders

I think a polish or silkie would surprise the kids. You can talk about the silkies extra toes and dark skin. And the polishes crest. I think if you brought one crested hen,one hen with extra toes or feathered feet, one rose comb, and one blue egglayer maybe.

I think the barred rock roo is a great choice. Their handsome, and tall, and did i mention good with the ladies.

Maybe you can bring an incubator too and teach the children about the incubation process.

We don't have polish or silkies.. And we don't own an incubator yet either..

Yeah, maybe so I can show an ameraucana chicken, and a wyandotte hen with my barred rock roo? I wish my chicks I had now were bigger and fully feathered and whatnot.. But maybe this won't be my first and only poultry presentation..
Is your presentation part of your 4H? I'd say if you feel comfortable with doing this you should keep it up, get kids excited and interested in something besides those gadgets they are constantly carrying around [I have 3 grand kids I wish lived closer so they could have an interest other than those] That would be a nice selection of breeds to take with you.

It's not. I believe it's a test for me to becoming superintendent at the fairgrounds in the poultry tent..
