Giving chicks grit

My chicks are 2 weeks old now and I want to start being able to feed them some healthy treats every once in a while. I put their grit in a little bowl in their brooder but they don't seem to be very interested in it. Is there a certain way I should be giving them the grit? Should I put it in their feed instead? Also how much do they need to eat before I can give them a treat? Thanks!

Put the grit in with their food.

I crushed up a few meal worms on top of their first bowl of grit. Within hours the whole bowl was gone. I did not add treats to any subsequent biwls but they still eat it.

I just get a small handful and put it on top of the feed.
