That's my beautiful GL Wyandotte in the middle. She is 2mos., 9 days old. She has earlier, bigger, redder comb/waddles than her same-aged companions but I have no other Wyandottes to compare to. One thing I have noticed is that her feathers are much shinier than the other girls. Do I have a roo? Yikes.

looks like a wyandotte grr its been a long day and speeding through at some quick glances doesnt help im leaning towards cockerel...and for some reason my computer keeps sending me back a post and im posting answers in the wrong threads grrrrr

Wyandottes do tend to mature quicker than other breeds, but those are some pretty big wattles for her/his age. I second the request for a picture of the saddle and hackle feathers.

I "third" the request for more pics, side shots, saddle, & hackle pics would REALLY help. That comb and those wattles are big and red for that age....Are you sure she's only 2 months old? She looks a lot older than that.

So she's about 10 weeks old? Nothing about her feather coloring screams rooster but that is some serious development. That actually looks like a hen that's close to laying. Is it at ALL possible you've mixed up her hatch date? I notice your EE next to her has some red in her face. Mine are only just beginning to turn red in the face at 14-15 weeks old and she looks awfully big for the age you stated. My wyandottes are very small compared to their hatch mates.

Does this picture help? She is spreading her wings up here in front of my G.Comet (who showed her comb slightly earlier than the Wyandotte, but it has developed more slowly).
As for the age question, I bought 6 chicks on May 3 that were supposedly 1 day old (see my avatar, that was taken on May 3). They were pretty much all the same size. In the first few weeks I would say the wyandotte was one of the 2 smallest as a matter of fact. But then she got these very RED little wattles and comb early on (I can't remember when). Seeing chickarino's picture above makes me realize mine never had a comb that color; it's like it just instantly turned red overnight. But does that necessarily mean roo? Thanks so much for all your help everyone!

P.S. I was looking at her this morning and her feathers are VERY glossy compared to my others. Is that a wyandotte trait or is that another roo clue?

The pic doesn't help a whole lot but I think I see some saddle feathers coming in right in front of the tail. Are those feathers slender, pointed, very shiny and a deeper red than the rest of the feathers?
