I've had chickens before (in Ohio), but never in Florida! So I am excited to have my little flock. So far one Road Island mix hen rescue from the aftermath of Hurricane Michael, and just lately gifted with two bantams, hen and Roo!
I am having great fun being able to focus on these sweet birds instead of all of the loss and apocalyptic devastation surrounding us where we live.
I hope to glean all the wisdom of the world from your "Backyard" here!
Thanks for letting me share.

Hi and welcome to BYC. I guess the heat and humidity are a different challenge down in FL.

This is a useful link of BYC guides to take a look at announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3 I’d suggest including your location using the guide in that link. You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.

Best wishes

Be sure to check out the FL state thread (Pork Pie's given you a link to find it). When I lived in Florida, the members over on that thread were super helpful and friendly.

Best wishes to you, thanks for joining us!

Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock! :welcome BYC is a helpful site providing all of the information you need to know about poultry. There is always space for members on the BYC roost!:highfive:
Chickens can really make a difference in a tragedy or state of devastation.

Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
