New member here from Florence, Mississippi. I have raised chickens, game birds and occasionally other types for around forty years. Main chickens of interest have been Sebrights, OEG, Marans and Silkies. Main game birds of interest have been Mountain Quail, Valley Quail, Bobwhite mutations, Golden Pheasants as well as more rare pheasant species. I've also raised Ruffed Grouse and Prairie Chickens. Just starting over again after being without birds for eight years due to a final job related move with the Dept of Veterans Affairs. Retired December 31, 2015 at Saginaw, Michigan and then moved back to my home state of MS. I'm a 1973 graduate of Mississippi State University.

Very much a people person, so looking forward to interacting with others.

Welcome! I love Sebrights and Marans. I haven't raised pheasants, quail, or prairie chickens, but have been thinking about them, since I'd like to breed birds, but can't keep roosters where I am due to the noise.

Is there anything particularly challenging about keeping pheasants? They certainly are beautiful and varied.
