I decided to jump into chickens this year and brought home six chicks. They're about 9 weeks old now and seem happy out in their coop and run.

I went with a hodgepodge:
Light Brahma
Buff Orpington
Black Star
Easter Egger
Welsummer
Barred Rock

I'm sure I will have lots of questions as we go along

Yes, really hoping for all hens. My kids are super attached to them already and we're not allowed to keep roosters so...fingers crossed.

I've been a bit worried about the light brahma, "her" comb turned pink quite early on and she has huge legs and feet.

Congratulations on getting your chicks! You have a great mix there. I’m dying to hatch some light Brahma but they are so rare here in the UK!

How old is your Brahma? Usually they are slow developing. You can post good photos of her - standing side view, and head forward to show extent of comb - at "what breed or gender is this," and find out.
