I haven’t had the pleasure (and honor) of having chicken friends to love for over twenty years. My daughter and I raised them from , and we were very lucky, because we only lost three hens (out of 18) to a hawk, and one rooster (out of three) to disease. When we divorced, my husband and I sold the farm. We found great homes forevery one of our chickens and were able to visit them often.
Skip ahead to now, and I am engaged to a great guy who has farm animals. Tomorrow we are going to pick up four chicks from a farm about an hour away. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svarthöna.
In all the years I’ve been dreaming about having chickens again, I’ve been researching as much as I can so I won’t repeat past mistakes, and I’ll have happy healthy feathered friends.
I have a good sized coop and attached run. I am not going to free range them for their own safety. So, does anyone have instructions or plans for how to built a portable tractor? Then they can play in a new spot every day and avoid the monotony of their run.
Thank you all!
