We live on a small lake with lots of summer cabins. They all have crawl spaces that make good coon shelters and some people feed racoons, unfortunately. This leads to massive coon populations......my neighbor one fall trapped 27 in his driveway. We didn't have a problem for a few years but I got game cam pics of them under our coop. I cleaned all the food up so they ripped the top off our garbage cans and strew garbage all over. Lids were bungee corded on. Then I got a game cam picture of a big one at 10:30 AM ...... out came the traps. They aren't hard to trap. I caught one and the door didn't latch and he just pushed it open....but I got him the next night.
Our coop is very coon proof but we free range during the day so I just want to get the coon population down a bit. Good luck and welcome again!
