Thanks eveyone for your very kind words of encouragement!!
I am happy with how it turned out. Now I am just waiting on pins and needles for the call from the feedstore that my chicks have arrived.
Today my husband has a fellow here from CA to buy some vintage stereo equiment, (my house is an electronics warehouse these days.) Anyhow the fellow looked outside to the backyard and saw the garden, and my husband says "Go show him your chicken coop." And I could tell even though he made it clear it was not his idea to have chickens, he sounded quite proud of me that I built it myself.
Nice outfit Spartacus. The coop looks like a doll house. What a wonderful job. I love all the details. I'm Jealous. My coop is a real plain jane compared to yours. We had to build it in a hurry, cuz we already had chicks outgrowing the brooder.
Some "non-chicken" people keep saying it is way too nice for chickens.
But, I don't think so... of course I have yet to have any chickens. So time will tell I suppose. But, if I keep it clean and painted I don't see why it shouldn't stay nice.
