"It's nice being able to talk to someone like this," Sapphire said. She stopped talking as they reached camp, lowering her head so as not to get attention.

Sapphire finished dragging the elk to the food pile, where it landed with a thump. "Okay, Kasper, you can get off my back now." She said

Kasper crouched down, then took a flying leap and landed a couple of yards away. "That was fun," he squealed.

 

[Starburst]

"Did you enjoy the hunt?" Sapphire asked

 

[orloffer]

"Oh yes!" Kasper said, sniffing around the elk carcass. "Next time I should get an elk all by myself."

 

[orloffer]

"I'm going to tell my mother about the hunt," Kasper continued excitedly, "and my sisters."

 

[Starburst]

"You go do that," Sapphire said with a laugh. "And if you ever need someone to play with, I'm always up for a game." She grinned

Kasper scampered off to the pup den to tell his mother about the elk hunt. He also found himself suddenly feeling very tired. A nap would be nice after all that exercise.
