.. a loud ROAR sounded from behind Willow, and from nowhere a paw laced with claws as big as her leg landed on her back. She yelled in shock and pain and whipped around to face an angry mother bear. Her eyes traveled up the large standing bear and she yelled in fear. She raced away in the direction of camp, blood trickling from the deep wounds on her back.
 
She skidded into the camp without the water soaked moss. Her back was stripped of the skin, and long strands of her once beautiful coat hung in shreds, barely hanging on. “BEAR!” she howled, and a moment later the bear crashed through the trees, roaring in fury.

‘ Play dead Willow!’ Mitts cried, trying to keep up with the pair.
 
She could hardly hear Mitts over the bears rage at the pup who dared touch her cub. The bear had her backed up against a tree, standing tall on its hind legs....
