Mitts realized she was thirsty. It made sense because no one really drank unless they were sick. She was wondering how she even survived the days without hydration.

She went over to a nearby creek and took a long, nice drink. Then she realized she had swallowed a fish and was choking. She ran back over to camp and coughed up a very big minnow in her den. It was still alive so she cut off its head and started eating it.

(Cut off it's head? Just curious, how would a wolf do that? )

That is the most beautiful thing I've seen all day, yes, I see they could cut it with their claws. I also did imagine them biting the head off and spitting them out, but if they did that I would say exactly that. Now I do realize she could cut it with her claws

( mitts doesn’t eat fishie heads nor get them anywhere near her mouth. I based it off my dog clawing off baby rabbit heads before he eats them )
