Luna backed up against an oak. Turning, she sprinted through the forest. As she ran, she heard the sound of thunder, and then the next second a searing pain filled her left shoulder. She stumbled, then fell

Luna groaned. The pain was immense, and through her blurry vision, she saw the settler walking toward her, bending down...

Luna shook her head, trying to clear it. She managed to get to her feet and turned to Wild. "Thanks," She said. "Let's get out of here." Ignoring the pain, she ran the best she could.

(It could still arguably be a tranquilizer gun. They have tranquilizer guns that look like real guns, she got blurry vision, the settler bends down to her instead of just shooting her again. The only thing that doesn’t add up is the noise (I’ve never heard one being shot before, but I don’t i is gin they’d be loud.) The last quote is the last time Luna showed up, so we don’t know what happens after that.)

(It could also be that the settler didn't have common sense and shot her in hopes of injuring her instead of using a tranquilizer, or that he got scared and shot her. Wolves can be dangerous.)

(Right. BTW, sorry I wasn't on, I'm on again. I like the idea of settlers being possibly good as well as bad)

(Yes, there's lots of possible reasons. I like the worried about their livestock one, that's a good one. They could be trying to kill us wolves cause they think we would kill their livestock, and trying to settle should definately be an option. If they were trying to capture/tag/tranqualize wolves than perhaps they carried some live guns for their own protection and were scared by the wolves behavior, or there could be just a dumb settler like u suggested also. There could be other settlers too that are against these settlers and want to make our forest into a nature preserve or something...)

(There could even have been guides for the researchers, so they wouldn’t do the tagging themselves, and would have real guns for protection.)

(I really like how the story has branched out. I think adding dice rolls has helped us come up with more stuff.)
