So here is the deal. I have a GLW hen that has four chicks-about 8 weeks old. She still tends them but is somewhat letting them go, I think. But she is mean to the other hens. The others are white rocks and red sex links-very gentle ladies, and are good layers. But she is constantly running them out of the coop when they are trying to lay. Is there something I can do about this?? I found two eggs in the run this morning...

No one has any ideas? The only thing I can think of is chicken soup-but really don't want to resort to that.[IMG]

I guess no one has any insight for me...oh well the other hens decided today after laying outside in the run and constantly being harassed for sitting on that particular box to use the one on the other end. What smart ladies I have! I love those girls...I tell you though, much more out of Miss Penny and she might be a fried chicken dinner! Just kidding..I don't think she is very meaty!

You seem to have smart chickens! Mine like to lay on the floor, despite the nice, large, cozy nesting boxes. Or, one lays in the box, the other lays on the floor! [IMG]
