I tell my girls how it is...

I said there was a man a long time ago named Nicholas. And he made toys for little boys and girls in orphanages who did not have mommies or daddies. And people thought this was really nice of him to do so they made him a Saint and called him Saint Nick. And that's where the story came from about Santa Clause. So it is in his memory that we gift presents to celebrate, what? Why is Christmas special?

It's Jesus' birthday.

Yes, Christmas is special because it is Jesus' birthday. ( i know...open to interpretation...)

And do reindeer fly?

no.

Does a fat man named Santa go all around the earth and slide down skinney chimneys and bring toys?

no.

And then I tell her, Mommy wants you to know the truth. I want you to know that Christmas is about Jesus, our Lord and Savior. And if other mommys and daddy's want to tell their kids Santa brings them toys...that's ok. You don't tell them any different. It's up to their moms and dads to tell them when it is time. ok?

ok.

so no bluey...i didn't kill him off....he succumbed to old age, as far as I'm concerned.
