Go ahead, call me easily grossed out!

That's just the tip of the iceberg. Just wait until you turn one of your perfectly clean, fluffy hens over and get a look at her vent, then take a closer look and there are hundreds of tiny blood sucking aliens running around. I felt like I had things crawling on me for days after, as a matter of fact, just writing this is making me itch. Chicken keeping is not for the faint hearted. I've gotten a bit 'grittier' as the years have gone by, but it's a work in progress, and I still gag every now and then.

Let me tell you i can be a bit OCD - but there are things you have to accept when raising chickens - perhaps next time forego the vinegar and dip your hands in hot bleach - that will surely cure all! LOL

Hehehe funny how all the reality of keeping animals is so gone by the time food gets to the grocery store and consumers. Not so squeaky clean when ya take out the middle man

Enjoyed it very much. Family did not as I laughed out loud and they were sleeping.

Looks like a bit of scrambled egg to me... that's all I can think of.
Oh, and NEVER touch me again!

Well, my bf & I drove 1 1/2 hrs on July 4th (YAY! Road Trip!) to get fertilized Marans eggs for my virgin Silkie that went broody as soon as she booted her clutch of adopted store-bought chicks. Bought a dozen (3 bucks, thanks Linda!!!) and put 8 under Silkie.

I told bf the remaining 4 are for us for breakfast. He said "oh, you can have them". Huh? Finally he admitted that not only did the chocolate color gross him out but the 'thought' that they'd been fertilized was over the top gross. I explained briefly that many, many store-bought eggs are fertilized but dropped the subject and ate them puppies by myself.

Gross is in the eye of the beholder.

Ooooohhhh.....you would not last sixty seconds here! I make my own ground tripe (stomach) for my dogs. Talk about gross! And I have been known to pick up dog poop with my BARE hands! LOL.
Sorry, couldnt resist...
