Go ahead, call me easily grossed out!

That's just wrong!!! But, send me some of that prepared tripe for my pug. We feed her raw ;-)~

Good for you, so do I (obviously). Also do a ground organ mix. That is fun let me tell ya. Next will be the meat birds as I hate buying commercially grown/processed chicken for my dogs. Yuck!

We actually don't ground anything. Go to the store and purchase raw, big meaty bony stuff, like chicken breast and thighs, steak, pork chops, etc...then break it up into portions and freeze it. Our dog is a gulper, so if I don't freeze it, she'll finish in a minute or two. Freezing it makes her work for it a bit and it's much more satisfying. I'm sure we'll move on to the meat birds at some point, but I'm just not ready to start slicing open chicken necks and dealing with all THAT!

Oh man, thanks for the laugh JeffRoss! I have to admit that I probably would have second thoughts about that egg too!

You have my admiration for not letting your fear of dirty stuff get in the way of enjoying life, and dirty activities. And also for your awesome sense of humor

We had an egg with the same kind of funk on it yesterday, from a different chicken...our Easter Egger who just started laying! Pretty sure we're looking at an alien conspiracy. If I post no more, or post in forked tongue, you will know something has gone horribly wrong...

But seriously, that is weird. I hate it when I put my hand under a hen to get eggs and get covered in poop... Luckily it doesn't get worse than that around here...

Seriously, you have to be kidding:

This is what I see on one of the eggs I grabbed for supper tonight...never seen anything like this before reading the OP's post yesterday - but here it is - in my own kitchen!!!

(just kidding - I'm not easily grossed out!)

It's from one of my friend's hens. Any hen of laying age at my place is otherwise occupied at the moment (molt or brooding).

I just couldn't deny the irony when I saw it...

BTW - it washes right off.
