So I put 10 mixed bantam eggs in lock down on Easter day and only 2 hatched and they hatched the day I put them in lock down day 19. Then on hatch day (day 21) I put 5 quail eggs in lock down with the bantams. I just threw the quail eggs in because I'm obsessed with filling my incubator lol and I really didn't expect them to hatch.
Well today is day 20 and all 5 have pipped and 2 are zipping. I've pretty much given up on the bantams hatching. So I candled the bantams the day before lock down and all 10 had clear movement and veining. If all of my quail are hatching what the heck happened to my chickens in lock down?
I really wanted the bantams to add to my flock but the quail I will be selling as I'm not really a quail fan and we sold our adult quail last week. So yea go figure! Just had to share my luck!
