So I have these 6 guineas...

They hatched the 2nd week of July. I kept them in untill last week. I also did some conditioning so they would come get treats (meal worms) when I call them. It worked. I was worried they might take off. They just seemed so wild compared with our chickens and geese. Well I can't get them out of the barn! The geese and chickens are out all day. And come back in to sleep. I don't know, am I just impatient?

On another note, they are so sweet and friendly. Not spooky or flighty at all. My children adore them. ;)

I'd let them come out on their own, when they are ready, and just keep giving them the option to go out if they want to. If you force them out that's going to be traumatic for them and they may never go back in. Plus you have to remember that everything looks different to a Guinea from the outside, and they don't adjust to changes well. Just be patient and maybe try coaxing them out with treats... they will eventually build up their confidence and be out with your other poultry.

Wonderful thank you! I tried the treats trick, it worked. They have been a bit braver. They leave for a short while, and then scream and fly back to the barn as soon they startle. Ha ha ha I just adore these little creatures. ;) I found them in the garden yesterday on there own! Grasshoppers beware....
