I would not recommend boar goats as a milk goat. They were originally raised for meat; therefore they have better quality meat, but their milking ability isn't the best. (Plus they often have terrible udders; milking a goat with three or four teats is not fun.) Personally, I like the taste of traditional dairy goat's milk. Some traditional dairy breeds include Toggenburg, Alpine, Lamancha, Nubian, Saanen, Sable, Oberhasli and Nigerian Dwarf. Out of these breeds, I recommend Nigerian Dwarves. They require less space, less food, etc., but produce a surprising amount of milk for their small size!

And, their milk, on average, has the highest buttermilk content out of all the other dairy goat breeds. My friend's Nigerian gives almost a gallon a day, and it tastes amazing! Like melted ice cream.
