Goat people - babies are here!!!

Okay goat people - my doe has NO ligaments, her udder is large, but she is still eating and no discharge. She isn't posty (yet). She is trembling a lot, but it is only 15 degrees here. Do you think it's going to be tonight?

Cocoa finally had her babies yesterday morning about 11:30am. When I went out to check, she was laying quietly and I went in the goat shed and she got up and walked around a minute, then started hollering and pushing. Within about 12 pushes, she passed a bubble, then the first baby. A few minutes later, a second baby. The good news - easy, uneventful delivery with healthy babies. The news that could be a little better - they are both boys

. We are planning on showing in dairy shows this summer - but need a few more girls! Parents are AGS reg. from really strong milk lines, so if anyone would be interested in a potential buckling - let me know. Mom's udder is impressive for a FF - more pics of that later.

Thanks helmstead! The only problem with the buck year is that I only have this doe and one other that is due in late June...! Going to have to start looking for another doeling, I suppose....

If you're close to (western) TN (don't know where you are in the mnts) I have a buddy there with doelings on the ground now. Also, Thunderhill has lots of nice doelings for sale in AL. I'm getting a buckling from her in late April...I can deliver a doeling as far as my place for you...

...24 hours later, they are dry, fluffy, and doing great! Just had to brag

What would you say the colors are? The small buckling has a tiny bit of golden color on his back and has a dark spot on his nose/lip. The more colorful is actually a tri-color - has a little bit of black on his legs alongside the red.

They are soooo cute! I remember when we got out two little boys last year. They are wethers, pets for my children. But of course, since then we have been considering getting another. I think we are going to look at getting a doe. Out littler one is the ham too! So cute. Congrats!

newtothecoop: if finding a doe doesn't work out, let me know...I will have these guys for sale, as well as a 1 year old wether that is for sale now.
