Oh I am so very sorry. I can't imagine how you are feeling.

Hi! Thanks all, yes the people did know that after 2pm I did need to be somewhere else which is why I had to have them there before that. So it's quite possible it was deliberate. The police did find them and are following procedure on this. Hope to have him back soon though I have to wait for all the proper legalities to be followed first. I really can't go into details however.
Pretty much they have until Saturday so I don't think I'll see him back before then. I do intend to stand my ground firmly. Thank you for all the support!
Thanks! Michelle

I wish you the best of luck in this situation and I am so sorry that you have to go through this.

I hope your little fella comes home safe and sound.

This is why it is so hard to trust people these days. I was trying to sell horses last year and it scared me so bad to have people come onto the property. It gives them the opportunity to come in and see what they can take, who will be there who won't, and see what security issues they need to overcome. I hate it.

Karen(who breeds Nigerians) had two bucks stolen last year. Her bucks are located at the very back of her property behind her house where nobody can see them. Whoever stole them had to go over a locked gate, through a pack of Great Pyrenese(2-6 of them) and then catch the bucks. Unfortunately we believe them to have been eaten and one was her state champion stud. Unbelieveable.

I hope you get him back, glad the police found them. I do hope you punish them to the fullest extent, there is no excuse for what they did at all.

I hope you get your little guy back. I have sold several goats over the internet and am leary of giving out too much information.
I do have a good sized watchdog inside of the barn and I tell people to call me 1/2 hour before they get here so I can move the dog as he takes his job very seriously and won't let anyone inside of the barn.
So far I have only have decent people out here, but anymore you just never know.
I think it was 2 years ago that there was a couple here in Ohio that would go to people's houses looking at puppies for sale. They would not purchase a pup, but during their visit they would find out the homeowners schedules and would come back and steal pups while the people were away. And this was an older looking couple, not anyone you would expect to be thieves.
Best of luck to you.

I hope the little guy returns and the thieves get theirs.

Used to be I was very outspoken on the horse slaughter issue. I was at a local auction one day and a killer buyer was there. He frequents sales all over the northeast. I was watching the sales and picking up some tack for resale on ebay. I noticed the killer buyer leave in the middle of the sale. Something made the hair stand up on my neck and my stomach knot. Paid for my stuff and took off towards home. I lived on a back dirt road in the middle of nowhere. There at the base of my driveway was the killer buyers trailer and truck. I had just enough room to scoot around the end of the trailer and up the hill to my driveway. The truck took off and headed down the road. The road heads further into no place for many miles so I knew he would have to turn around at a lumber mill a few miles up the road. No real police dept there at the time and proving intent would have been impossible. I know that because I used to work for a police dept in a neighboring town. All I could do was return the glare I got on the return trip. I do know that my horses would have been in New Holland by morning. Made me sick for days.

Yep! tell me he was just napping there. And who told him where I lived is even a more sickening thought.

That is quite frightening. Killer buyers are the ones more apt to steal a horse too, because they can get rid of the evidence.. Next time you see him, get his license plate number, juse in case he changes his mind..

It is one thing to send a horse you honestly paid for to slaughter, it is a complete other story for them to steal someone elses..

Sorry to hijack the post, this scenario is just so very scary..

Hi, The latest news is we know the woman has him, she admitted it freely. Still denies stealing him, figure THAT one out. Yes she bought the goat from someone else who stole him, knew she was buying this particular goat and how to contact her and set up a scam meeting so they could get her money. Right! But a plan is still in the works to get him back safely while still going through the route needed in order to prosecute. If the woman had been somewhat sorry about what she had done and wanted to make it right by bringing him back etc then she might have had a chance. Making me even angrier is just shooting herself in the foot. But she has been warned if anything happens to the goat in the meantime even more charges are filed. A bad situation for herself and accomplice, and she just keeps making it worse and worse with her attitude. Will let you all know when he's home safe & sound! We have a supposed guard dog, a big german shepherd, but he was apparently napping on the job.
