Hey!
Me and my family are adopting two dwarf Nigerian goat kids. One is a boy (barlo) and the other is a girl (beatrice or beezus). They will be coming to live in our backyard in June. So my family is making the pen and house. Then we decided we wanted to add four chickens on to our mini farm! Here are some question we need to be answered:

1. Do chickens and goats get along? We have friends who have them together and there isn't any problems. But has there ever been any problems where goats hurt chickens?

2. Can hens get diseases from chickens or the other way around?

3. Will chickens eat goat food or will goats eat chicken food?

4. Is there a breed of chickens that particularly get along with goats?

5. What is a breed of chickens that are VERY easy to take care of?

Thanks for reading,

My friend keeps her dwarfs with her chickens... it works out fine. Just make sure each species has a seperate shelter. watch for aggresion. DO NOT KEEP CHICKS WITH GOATS! If you want birds for eggs, I suggest Rhode Islands, Wyandottes, Leghorns, Easter Eggers, Buff Orpingtons, or Barred Rocks.
