Goats and pigs for underbrush

I hope you don't move your goats to a shorter fence with your goat killing dog around.

Oh - and just read what you wrote about your cat going outside "My biggest fear is sometimes the neighbors dogs run loose".

I would REALLY not want to put your goats in a shorter fence for that reason as well.

My "goat killing dog" will be kept on a side of a 5' fence. Plus I have decided to add electrical wire to the top of the 4 ft in case anything wants to go over

a pig would be great if you want the land tilled AND the treas cleared, pigs do a number on trees so if your planning on keeping the trees and just ridding of the underbrush id say no to a pig...

goats though would work wonders, get some portable fencing (or chain them) to keep them in a smaller area and move that area once the one there in is cleared...should be clear in no time.

if tethering them out please do not leave out overnight on tetheres ect.

It's kind of pricy, but that portable electric netting fence is great for what you want to do. Keeps the goats in, predators out, and is a snap to move.

I wouldn't tether unless you were out there the WHOLE time. WIth alot of underbrush they are sure to get tangled. Perhaps keeping them away from water or choking them. Gost choke very easily. Fencing is the only real option. Now we do tether our goats occasionally, but we are always out there with them when they are tethered.
