Congratulations on your decision to get goats! They are wonderful affectionate animals. I have 3 now. A 15 year old Nubian, a 6 month old Nigerian Dwarf and a 4 month old African Pygmy. The old man hangs out in the yard with my 2 spotted donkeys, 2 pigs, my Jersey cow and various ducks and chickens. He shares the same hay feeder with donkeys and cow. He gets along with everyone and is the sweetest boy. The babies are together in their own area and I am adding a Juliana pig with them today. It's so much fun to give them their hay and help pick out the best parts to hand feed them. They seem to appreciate that. When its grain time, oh how they get excited! They are definitely happier when I am in their pen. Make happy noise when they see me. I added a little ramp for them to play on which they also love. Mine are all boys now, but I had 4 Nigerians a few years back. I cant tell difference in behavior. I cant imagine you wont thoroughly enjoy them. They can be escape artists, but if they are happy and fed and not bored, they wont leave their home. Pics on the way.
