"GOD" bless pit bulls

We have a pitt and we love her like family. She is so lovable and very protective of children. We do however make her sit by the door and wait, she cannot go out until we do. She cannot come back in until we do. So on and so forth. Dogs are pack animals and they need to know their place. She is perfectly happy being (low man) on the totem pole. It is always good to have a healthy respect for anything with teeth.

I think our pitt would probably hide behind me and bark REALLY loud at the bear.

Back to the story I am so happy that your grandkids are ok. Just thinking about the possibility brings tears to my eyes. I grew up in the Rockies and I remember all kinds of stories about bear attacks. I'm always the one to say tie that in a tree, or don't leave that outside, they can smell it. Etc, Etc.
Please give the grand kids a great big smooch from me. What ever the reason you all were spared terrible tragedy. Thats cause to celebrate!!!!!

The pitt in the picture from quadcam79 is my (baby puppy).
She is SO cute.

Since I seem to have been the only one to see this from another point of view I will say
"I'm sorry for trying to spoil your happy celebration of pit bulls".
Hope you will forgive me.

They say pitbulls are mean, but its all according to the raising of the owners and how they are treated. Ours has never turned on us, and she is a great dog. If you put a chain around the dogs neck and chain them to a tree all day, of course they are going to be mean because they are out all day in the cold, rain, summer heat and prone to be mean because you never spend time with them and show them love and affection. Some owners can give a hoot, and thats where the mean dogs come in place

Did you know that Danes had been banned from showing for awhile? They used to get into all kinds of fights and be agressive. Then when the ban went into to effect the breeders figured out that if they kept breeding agresive to agresive then they where not going to sell any dogs. Now we have the gental giants of today and I'm very glad for that

Panner, I am glad your grandchildren are ok. and that you had a happy ending to your scare. Someone was definitely looking out for your family!

This topic keeps wandering off topic, so I am closing it.
