Stuck!?!? I happen to LIKE English Fiction.
Dickens is a hoot.
Okay, I confess, in between school assignments I've been reading Tolkien, and I LOVED Gulliver's Travels and A Tale of Two Cities (Both telling commentaries on human nature).
But I must soon return to my nerd reading!
(However, when it comes to English fiction, I have learned a hard lesson - STAY AWAY FROM FEMALE AUTHORS!!! Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre. Need I say more?)
Oh I agree with you mostly! I am a female, but have been known to express opinions deragatory to female authors. Men write better books, GENERALLY speaking. "Slipshod, sugary female thinking!" (BTW, thats from Mary Poppins)
