God hates me this year

I'm glad your mood is a tad bit better! I'm so sorry for your cat. I had a cat that lived with me for 20 years, but she was quite miserable at the end and crying. I held her and kissed her while euthanasia was administered. It's hard, but nothing and nobody gets out of this world alive. I'm so sorry for your loss. You are lucky that you even have a Vet to help with your ducks. We live in the country, everyone has livestock, but no Vet will see chickens or ducks here. Why? I donno. I'm praying for you, please push on and remember you are valuable, you are loved, you are important! Have a good day! :hugs
Thank you!
I guess we are all animal lovers at heart. I’ll never change

Hope you are having a good week @DucksOhio . Just checking in. Let us know how things went with the chick,.
Thank you so much for asking.

i was so excited this morning because we were taking both girls back to the vet to remove bandages. I was so excited to let them outside after such a long exile.

June, the khaki with a less serious bumble foot is fine. Sugar, the Welsh girl who had surgery is not.

This seems fishy. I brought Sugar back the vet two weeks ago, also two weeks post surgery for a checkup. Vet said she doing very well, rewrapped her with new bandages, and sent us home with her for another 2 weeks of recuperating in the duck barn.

This morning, he now says her toe is badly broken. How? She was so heavily bandaged and kept inside the whole time!

He said best scenario is to amputate her toe. I literally broke out in sobs.

I don’t understand...she had X-ray at the onset and there was no mention of broken toe. The vet said it was likely due to the infection. But wouldn’t that be obvious In initial X-ray?

I agreed to the amputation, there really is no other choice.

i am just so very sad for that sweet, sweet girl, who has been so patient, and now this.

Thanks for letting me rant.

Glad June's doing alright now and I hope Sugar gets better soon ❤

I am so sorry, I know you were ready to be all finished up with the chicken sicknesses and ready to move into a healthy summer. I hate Sugar will have to have her toe removed. Animals are curious and brave creatures maybe she will recover from this and live a long ( but limping) life. Sounds like she has the best owner in the world. Perhaps I could come and be one of your chickens..:celebrate

I am trying to feel blessed by the good things In my life, but it’s getting tough, as several of my ducks have been unwell recently.

i have a sweet Welshie who is in her last 2 weeks of recovering from vet bumblefoot surgery. I now have a khaki named June with a bumblefoot that Baytril is not working on. I’ve got the epsom salts, vetricin, vet tape, neospin on the handy, but she doesn’t have a big black bumble core that I could try to ply out.

I’ve made an appointment with the faraway vet for Friday for June and I imagine that she will also need surgery.

NOW...today I have a 3 year old khaki girl that is incredibly weak. No injuries, not walking well. I gave her about .03 cc of B12...it was a rush job and I didn’t have time at the time to re-read the sticky thread on niacin. I just hope she makes it through the night.

I pride myself on really working hard on caring for my beloved ducks, but unfortunately I only have support here. My husband hates the ducks.

My vetinarian is about an hour away, and I cannot drive highways anymore as I get anxiety attacks anytime I try. My husband really hates having to drive me to the vet with a duck.

Sadly, on Friday, I also have to put down my 17 year old cat.

I love this forum and I read this every morning early after I take care of my pets.

God bless everyone and thank you for letting me rant.
I agree with @cluckmecoop7
