Godzilla is a 12 week old Red Ranger. We ordered 6 Red Ranger chicks at our local Co-op. We had a choice of Ranger vs Cornish but after we learned about the health problems with Cornish the choice got easy, not to mention we wanted birds that went out in the run and got exercise. Despite His huge size he is shy as are all the rangers, My NH Reds come running squawking up a storm. Godzilla spends part of his time chasing away the chipmunk who comes by to steal fermented mash.He hasn't come to the reality that he will be the super stud of the coop yet but that's coming soon. He does rule the coop, no one stands in his way, the other males are not even close to his size. His coloring is so bright, that bright green in his tail stands out. So far there has been no problem leaving food out 24/7, no fat birds or leg problems. The best story about Godzilla is how long and how much practice it took to crow. The first sounds could only compare to some strange cat noise. So after one month of practice every morning and all kinds of sounds he finally got it right.
