Going back out the coop in a couple more days :D

Sheesh! Did you ask if there was a number of a vet that helps with these sort of things that you could call? My Ext. office put me in touch with the head vet up at VA Tech. He is completely awesome and super knowledgeable, just extremely difficult to get ahold of. Sorry for the disappointment on that one. I just wish I could help you figure out what is wrong with your babies. Worms can cause diarrhea and weakness, so that's why I went with that initial diagnosis. If they aren't sneezing, wheezing, or coughing I wouldn't think it was anything to do with any respiratory illness. It must be something intestinal. Keep me updated on how they do.

They're still alive... he did agree that because of such a quick onset, that it was most likely not worms or parasites. Very likely that it may be botulism or some other problem.

Well, they're still kicking..... no improvement, no worsening....... just got back from the coop... everyone else is fine and dandy. So, I dunno. Is it possible they ate my missing chick!

Seriously though.... I'm SOOOO baffled why all of this all at once.

I'm happy to hear that they haven't gotten any worse. Sorry they are sick though.

Let's all hope that they didn't eat the missing chick!

LOL I realized today that they came home before the chick went missing... LOL So, no, they couldn't have eaten it! LMAO Of course, I didn't think it was possible anyhow... hahaha.... though if you saw them around food on a good day

The one was standing today, but she is still not interested in food or water

The other was eating and drinking, but still a little wobbly.

They've been in the house since last night and the house is cool. Too quick an onset for worms according to the guy that is head of Agriculture up at MSU. He figures it is something they ate, some virus (please don't let it be!) or something else. Yeah, it's wide open

Who knows. He didn't see any reason to have them examined either unless 25% or more of my birds come down with it.
