Yea. The only problem is if one falls from the nest while she is still hatching, it could get cold and die or she would get off the nest and all the unhatched chicks would die.Unsure about what you mean about falling out. However I doubt that a 100 foot fall would even phase a baby chick, little less a mere foot and a half drop.
I've never had a broody before. She's making a different sound than the rest. So I'm assuming that's what it is. I hope I'm right
I walked into the coop and she sang her egg song. In the nest was a perfect little brown egg. Oh well. I'm sure I will get another broody someday. Thank you for the help! Good luck with your mamma and chicks!
actually I'm back on board with you because she is now sitting on the nest flattened out and puffed up growling. So mabye! I'm super excited. I have 6 eggs picked out for her candled and ready to go. I just hope she sticks to it.
