I need help to ID this bird. I found him/her injured on our loading dock at work. When I first saw it I thought it was a female bob-white quail but, after a closer look I'm just plain stumped as to what species or breed this bird may be. I still think it's a game bird of some sorts. It's a beautiful little bird, I just want to make sure it gets the proper care.

Sorry, I'm not much help, but if it's a wild bird, try searching "Common Pauraque," (or any nightjar-- whatbird.wbu.com/obj/858/_/Common_Pauraque_Breeding_Male.aspx --) and see if that helps. Maybe a quail too, since the white chin patch is bigger... Can you tell if it's a domestic bird or not? Does it fly well? Or if it's a juvenile, or female, it might not fit the standard description of any game bird species.

Good luck with the ID!

I can't tell if it's domestic or not. It does not fly well and I'm almost positive it's a juvenile. I live in the Rio Grande Valley so, it could be a common pauraque. I appreciate all yalls help!
