Good on you tho, for opening her up to find the cause.
Could you tell if the eggs were inside or outside of the reproductive organs?

Sadly they were outside. As well as the fluid, I didn't do an "internal" search. I opened her up just below her breast bone when, I saw the fluid I knew I made the right call. The cysts, eggs, tumors and fluid was enough for me. Have been second guessing that decision, should have looked for other problems too but then again she was old and only real answers would have been with an official necropsy, but mine gave me what I wanted to know.

That's internal laying, nothing you could do for it, happens to older hens.
