Going out of town...what to do with injured hen?

Someone will be coming by daily and can see that she has food/water and is ok. She just can’t have her in her home/garage. I guess I’m just hoping for advice from others who have separated their hens..like what to use for a laying box, do I need a temporary roost for her etc?
I wouldnt put a laying box in. I have a section of my coop that I can put injured birds or chicks in. I'd you can I would put her in a crate in the coop with enough room to move around a bit. You could add a roost but she'll be fine without one. How long will you be gone?

Oops ,sorry, just saw you said a week. I think she will be fine is you can get her set up right. Make sure whoever's is checking her food and water to check her wound to make sure infection doesnt set in.

We’ll be gone for 5 days...not ideal for her to be cooped up in a crate. That’s why I thought sectioning off a portion of the run might be good, she’d have lots of space and still be by the other hens.

Is it possible to section off a bit of the coup? If so, leave her with plenty of food a water and make sure she can't spill them, but she can access them easily. You can also put in a roosting bar and a nesting box if she has been laying.

I think I would put her in a large dog crate in the coop, making sure she has food and water in something she can't dump, like chick feeder and waterer. It's not ideal, but she'll be safe and survive for five days. Good luck!

If you are absolutely sure that it's predator proof and she'll be okay if there is any bad weather (too hot/too cold).

As long as nothing can get into the run and she can get out of bad weather that would work. I've had to coop up my chickens for a week before. They did just fine.

There’s not much room in the coop, unfortunately! I wish.
