Going to buy my first incubator today.

Thanks for the info gab i have a temp hum reader i bought last month from walmart. So i'll buy another so I will have 3. I am buying the egg turner tomorrow. What good it does me since I have no eggs yet and no more money to buy eggs..LOL Isn't that my luck but I think that is a good idea is starting a post and geting hints and tips from others with a Still air LG incubator.

What is the difference between a 1602 and a 1588 model? I found a 1602 at a good price but I want something that I don't have to replace a bizzlion times! LOL! Thanks

I don't think we're "bullies or spoiled" for suggesting something other than a LG. Most of us who suggest someone get something other than an LG have used and not had had good luck with them. I wasted a lot of eggs, time and money by trying to go with the cheaper LG. I followed the instructions and kept track of my temps and humidity many times.....finally gave up and switched to the Hova-bators. Wish I had done it sooner. There are people who use them and like them....but there's lots of us who don't.

I'm gonna try it with some duck eggs. See how it goes if it does not work well for me. I can always resell it...and upgrade..LOL Its hard to find much good things in this small town other then if I ordered from online. So I had to go with this for now. I was so excited but now that has changed to worry if I am going to be able to keep the temps steady.

I hope no one took my remark and thought I was dissing anyone I was trying ot make a joke about how obssed we all are with hatching

I mean most of us dont even have jsut 1 bator we have 2 or 3 or more , everyone here is awsome. I apoligize if anyone thought my sense of humor wasnt funny. Personly I wish I was spoiled enough to have some of the bators I have seen on here

. Anyways I was makeing a joke and trying to be helpfull as well , you dont Have to start out with a big fancy bator to hatch a few eggs and enjoy youreself.

My Hova is all automatic and just plug in and set the egg turner in and ready to go. No fiddling with temps and with a good thermometer and humidity gauge, you will enjoy it! Saves the aggravation, time and money hatching out eggs and I have much better success with my Hovas than the LG. I've had three LG and hated them all even I kept one for hatching which it slows the hatching process down a bit and the temps are yo yo'ed thru the whole thing. Maddening for me, call me lazy but Hovas really take the guess work out of hatching eggs, despite the odds of shipped eggs.
