Going to have 4 hens all different breeds. which 4 would you choose ?

An Easter Egger for the pretty green or blue eggs

A Polish for the pretty bird and white eggs

A Marans for the dark brown/red eggs

A Wyandotte for the pretty lacing and normal brown eggs

An Olive Egger for the gorgeous, deep, rich olive green colored eggs.

And then, you get a basket with egg colors like these.

(minus the olive eggs, as I don't have any to show yet)

From past experience with all of these, if I couldn't pick all Barred Rocks, I'd say:

Barred Plymouth Rock
Rhode Island Red
Buff Orpington
Ameraucana (true Ameraucana, not Easter Egger)

I would have -

1 EE or dark blue true Ameraucana - blue eggs
1 Barred Holland/Spitzhauben - white eggs
1 Black Australorp - prolific layer of brown eggs
1 Maran - chocolate colored eggs

Of course, I couldn't just have four. Never just four. There are several different breeds that I love and couldn't live without, but this list is for egg color variety and great temperament.
