Going to Tractor Supply was a mistake

I have a hatchery 15 minutes away that said it has Lavender Orps. They have until next Wednesday to answer my email. That's when TSC gets new chicks in. Now what's going to happen when I put day old chicks under my Buff Orp that sits on the nest for over an hour to lay. Will it make others go broody?

Well, I went to buy some food and oyster shells, and the peeping of chicks floated over to me. I was over there before I even realized. Debating, debating.... ah heck it, no one will care if you get a few, right? :oops:I ended up coming home with four chicks. A polish, a buff Orphington, a gold laced Wyandotte, and a bantam. No one can blame me, right? Now I have to deal with what my family will think about me getting more chickens... :jumpyView attachment 2040486View attachment 2040487View attachment 2040490View attachment 2040492
OH my me too. I came home with 3 cute female EEs. Ilove the littles. If I lived in one place all the time I would have a yard full.

Same I bought four Orpingtons 😂

Do it! Don't forget the pics! Just get a couple ;) :caf
Too late...I called my local little store, waiting until they get Muscovies, even if I have to pay full price!! My hubby says I’m dumb. I had three very nice full grown Muscovies two weeks ago, I sold them....it was dumb. Impulse...I was making room for new mini pigs.

Lol! Mini pigs?!?! Pics please!!! Haha! Pics of muscovy babies too when you get them 😂

Did the same thing then other day... ended up with a brahama, a possible silkie ( was in with the brahamas but has 5 toes and black skin), 2 guineas ( had 3 one didnt make it 😢) and 2 mystery ducklings. But then! I went into Murdoch's because they had a sale on feed.... and we ended up with a blue cochin and 2 questionable birds that were in the cochin tank but have no feather fluff on their cute little feets.

Chances are too big the chicks get killed by hens.
Better put 4 eggs in the nestbox and wait till she gets broody. Then change the eggs for fertile eggs. And wait 3 week.
