I’m going there tomorrow, but I refuse to come home with any peeping or quacking at this point of the year. It’s still wayyyy too cold and I have goat kids and two mini pigs due any day...so I will not give in at TS tomorrow!!

Well, I went to buy some food and oyster shells, and the peeping of chicks floated over to me. I was over there before I even realized. Debating, debating.... ah heck it, no one will care if you get a few, right? I ended up coming home with four chicks. A polish, a buff Orphington, a gold laced Wyandotte, and a bantam. No one can blame me, right? Now I have to deal with what my family will think about me getting more chickens... The second picture is a barred rock, not a GLW. At my tractor supply they have the GLW in with the barred rock and mostly employees have no idea about the breeds. I also don’t think the last one is a australorp like someone stated.

Here are pictures of a australorp, has a lot of yellow and a picture of a SLW. It would have the same face markings as mine but in gold and brown coloring.

Already the Milford TSC had what might be mislabeled chicks in at least one of their bins. It figures, and it made NOT buying any a lot easier.

I went to buy FOOD. Only FOOD! TSC, the bane of chicken owners everywhere.

And duck owners! After last year, I'm desperately trying to find some way to get my feed delivered to me. But I like the interaction with the ppl at the store.

I'm sending my husband for chicken food after work today. He's MUCH more capable of getting in and out without babies...That said, we DO have to get the rest of the critter feed tomorrow or Saturday. We are going into PA since their minimum is 4 birds instead of 6 here in Ohio. Maybe then, at least I'll come home with fewer birds, since I am totally incapable of resisting...

My daughter just brought something up that is chicken math at its finest! She says that bantams are really only equal to 1/2 a full-sized chicken, so technically you could get twice as many. I like the way she thinks!!!

I was in the local TSC on Sunday and they had chicks, ducklings and even a few poults. The manager told me they will also be getting guinea keets later in the
spring. I suppose I'll have to find somewhere else to get my feed.
