Gold Country Chicken Sale - Saturday June 18

Five short weeks to this event, and wanted to throw out what I have to bring, and see if anyone is interested in day-old chicks so I can hatch accordingly.

I have started Blue Laced Red, White and Columbian Wyandottes (Large Fowl Only);

If you are interested in day old chicks of the following breeds, please let me know ASAP how many, so I hold back eggs and space in the incubator:
Marans (Blue, Black Copper, White or Wheaten*)
Sussex (Light or Coronation)
4th Generation Easter Eggers or 1st Generation Olive Eggers
Wyandottes (Blue, Black, BLR, White and Golden Laced)
Delawares*
Silkies*
Blue Andalusians*
Dark Brahma Bantams

* Indicate colors/breeds raised by my hatching buddy, and probably available, depending upon her other hatching egg sales.

Thanks! Carrie

I will have some mutt chickens for sale, if they don't sell before then.

I thought I would also put it out there what I'm looking for. I'm always on the lookout for hatching eggs & I don't even care if they're mutts! I prefer dual-purpose breeds.

I am forever and always on the lookout for white faced black Spanish, either chicks, eggs, or full-grown chickens. I'm so desperate for these birds, I'll even take on hatchery stock.

We have hatched out what we are calling "Willstead chicks". The mother is a hatchery stock Delaware, and the father is a hatchery stock Easter egger. The result is a gorgeous, mostly white chicken (like a pale/faded delaware) with a beard & muffs, and the pullets grow up to lay healthy-sized light green eggs (at least they have so far, even though these chicks themselves hatch from brown Delaware eggs). These project birds have the most amazing hybrid vigor. I have two 3-month-old pullets and a 3-week-old cockerel. When nothing else in my incubator hatches, these little babies hatch like there's no tomorrow! And so far, out of 5 eggs my friend and I have hatched, 4 have turned out to be girls. They produce a lotta female babies. I'm going to be selling or trading these.

I also have some black mixed chicks that I believe to be blue wyandotte and/or blue Jersey giant and/or black JG crosses. They may even have easter egger mixed in with them--they were mutt chicks hatched from Gryeyes' mixed flock.

I'll post pics of the Willsteads as soon as I can get good shots of them. They're zoomie little buggers at this age!

Good Morning BYC'ers-

We are getting down to crunch time to set eggs for the June 18th sale & swap, and there hasnt been much posted about what people have, so I will write what I am looking for.

I am interested in SQ Wyandottes, any variety EXCEPT Silver Laced, so pm/email me with what you have and their lines.

I am also looking for a pair or trio of SQ Speckled Sussex.

Got Roos? I am in need of SQ Sussex and Black Copper Marans (1 Wade-Jean and 1 Davis) - Not interested in anything less than 5 months old.

Thanks! Carrie

Hi Carrie, I have 4 BCM roos that will be 5 months the week before the swap.
These are not my birds. But I purchased the eggs as Davis lines.
No white feathers. I was planning on bringing a couple to the swap.
I will try to take some pictures for you once the monsoon stops.

Available at show or before:

12- 3 week old brahmas (buff and light)
2- 6 month old white cochin bantam roos
12- 1.5 months mystery feather-footed bantams. (Were supposed to be bantam buff brahmas, but ...)
3- 1.5 months silkies black & blue
8+ Toulouse or Toulouse/Sebastopol cross goslings.

Here's your dose of cuteness for the day!

Dang that gosling is cute, but sadly I do not have room for a goose. I will look for your pics. You have monsoon, and I am getting snow!!!! I am so done with this weather! Bring me Spring!

Hi Everyone,

The sale is still going on, sorry, I have not been able to visit the site, but YES we are still on. We are going to start at 10:00 and stay until about 2:00 unless we are busy and you all want to stay a little later.

Hi to everyone,

Hoping I will be able to make it to the sale (we will just be returning from vacation a couple days before). I have Seramas (chicks and young stock, mostly black & white mottled but a few other colors as well), three white Call ducks that will be about 7 months old at the time (they were supposed to be Snowy Calls...but I think the lady I got them from thinks pure white ones are called Snowy
hu.gif
) they are not super little but with a nice small drake should be able to produce nice babies (I am guessing all are hens-all 3 "call" like crazy, will probably have a better idea by sale time). I also have white Cochin Bantams. I have several babies that have been born in the last 3-4 weeks, so they will be about 7-8 weeks old by meet up day. I also have a couple of extra very nice white Bantam Cochin roos just coming up on 8 months old. The lady I got the Cochins from did show them, however I just wanted the hens for broodies, so I have not shown them. I have one SUPER nice large fowl Cochin Roo (just never got any hens to go with him) not sure exactly what color to call him but he does have blue in there though. They all are available for sale locally (Lodi) before the sale, but if anyone is interested just let me know and I can send photos and I can deliver to the sale.
Looking forward to meeting everyone soon!
